Buy Big Into Energy if the Labubu is going on a bag: it is the plush pendant with the ring clasp, the tie-dye fur and the brightest colourways, and it is the newest of the three. Buy Have a Seat if the figure is going on a shelf, because it is the only one of the three sold as a seated plush rather than a pendant. Exciting Macaron is the original pastel pendant from 2023 and the pick for collectors who want the design that started the line.
This comparison is built from Pop Mart's US product listings for the three series, Pop Mart's published shopping policies and named third-party reports of what each series contains, rather than first-hand use.
The three series side by side
Pop Mart's US listings print the release date, size and materials for each series as plain text, so those are the figures in the table (checked October 2026). What the listings do not print as text is the price or the set structure, which is why the structure row leans on named reports and the odds row points you at the box.

What each series actually is
Have a Seat: the one that sits on a shelf
Have a Seat is the second Labubu plush line and the only one of the three without a hanging loop. Pop Mart's listing gives it as 8 x 7 x 15 cm, with a shell of PVC and polyester and a stuffing of polyester, ABS, iron wire and nylon, released July 12, 2024. Wikipedia describes it as the seven-figurine Have a Seat line, which under Pop Mart's usual structure means six regular designs plus a secret, and Kawaii Bliss's series guide sums up the look as a sitting-pose Labubu with an adorable slouchy posture. Because it sits, it is the series that goes into a standard acrylic case without a hook or a riser, which starts to matter once you own more than a couple; our guide to the best Labubu display cases covers the case sizes that suit it.
Exciting Macaron: the original pendant
Exciting Macaron is where the pendant format began. Wikipedia calls it the first Labubu key-ring line, and Pop Mart's US listing dates it October 27, 2023, lists the material as ABS/PVC, gives the height as 6.7 inches and states that the whole set contains 6 non-repeating blind boxes. Bagaholicboy's coverage of the later series refers to this one as V1 The Monsters Tasty Macarons, the name the same 2023 line carries in some markets, so do not read the two names as two series. The colourways are the pastel, dessert-toned ones that Kawaii Bliss labels the pastel generation, and the secret is the extra figure outside the six.
Big Into Energy: the one for your bag
Big Into Energy is the third pendant generation, and the one Pop Mart's listing treats as a pendant first: the height of 17 cm (6.69 inches) is given excluding the hanging loop, the shell is PVC and polyester, the stuffing is polyester with iron wire, and the release date is April 25, 2025. Bagaholicboy's launch report lists the six regular designs as Love (red), Happiness (orange), Loyalty (pink and yellow), Serenity (green), Hope (blue) and Luck (purple), with the secret ID in grey fur with rainbow-gradient glitter eyes and rainbow-coloured teeth. The same report gives a 1:6 chance for each regular edition and a 1:72 chance of the secret, and notes that each figure is rendered in a one-of-a-kind tie-dye design, which means no two are exactly alike. Our Big Into Energy review goes deeper on this one series.
Secret odds: what Pop Mart prints and what it does not
Pop Mart's US shopping policy says that secret or hidden figures are distributed based on probability, that the drop rates vary by series and are determined by the brand, and that the specific drop rates and mathematical probabilities are officially listed as plain text on each product's detail page and/or its physical packaging. On the US web listings for these three series that text does not render in the page itself (checked October 2026), so the printed box stays the place to read the ratio. For Big Into Energy the reported figure is the 1:72 secret chance above. For the other two, Kawaii Bliss's guide generalises that most Labubu series include a secret figure at long odds, often around 1 in 72 boxes for pendant series, which is a retailer's summary rather than a maker statement, and should be read that way. The policy adds that unless a listing explicitly states "secret included" or a "guaranteed mechanism", obtaining a secret edition is not guaranteed, and the FAQ repeats that there is a certain chance to get a secret edition that varies by series.
Two practical consequences follow. A single box is a draw, and Pop Mart's FAQ states that if you do not like the character after opening the blind box, it does not accept return and refund requests for personal reasons. A sealed set is the only way to guarantee the regulars; what a case does and does not promise is laid out in whole case or single boxes, and the odds language itself in secret figures, explained.
Which one should you buy?
For a bag charm or keys: Big Into Energy. It is the series Pop Mart measures excluding the hanging loop, Bagaholicboy describes its tonal ring clasp as made for accessorising bags or attaching keys, and the saturated tie-dye colourways are the ones you see hanging from bags. Check price on Amazon; Amazon prices are not printed here because they move with stock, and marketplace listings for a sold-out series are priced by the seller, not by Pop Mart.
For a shelf or a desk: Have a Seat. The seated pose stands on its own, the pastel palette reads calmer in a row, and the seated height is what the Labubu-specific cases in our display guide are built around. A duplicate of a seated figure is also easier to live with than two identical pendants, because a pair of sitters reads as a deliberate display.
For the original design or a pastel set: Exciting Macaron. It is the first pendant line, it completes at six regulars like the others, and its colourways set the template the later series riffed on. Because it is the oldest, check that any sealed box you are offered is genuinely sealed and current; our fake Labubu checklist covers the box code and the seal. Check price on Amazon for whichever Labubu series is currently listed.
If you want any of them at retail, the channel matters more than the series. Pop Mart's FAQ says popular products may sell out quickly within seconds of being restocked and tells buyers to subscribe to NOTIFY ME WHEN AVAILABLE. Where each official channel fits is covered in where to buy Labubu at retail price, and Labubu, explained covers how the character got here.
What the listings tell you that the hype does not
Read the materials lines and the care follows from them. Have a Seat and Big Into Energy both list a shell of PVC and polyester with iron wire in the stuffing, and Bagaholicboy notes that the Big Into Energy figure features posable heads, arms and feet; the wire is what holds the pose, and it is also the part you should not bend back and forth. Exciting Macaron's listing gives only ABS/PVC, so treat its vinyl parts the way you would any vinyl figure. Plush bodies pick up dust and fade in direct sun, so the advice in sunlight, UV and placement and the boring war on dust applies to a pendant that lives on a bag even more than to a figure in a case. None of the three is a toy for small children: every Pop Mart listing carries the line "Not suitable for persons under 15."
The listings also share one line of fine print worth knowing before you compare sizes across sellers: Pop Mart notes that because of differences in measurement methods, actual measurements may vary within a normal range, so a pendant that measures a little under or over the listed height is not evidence of a fake on its own. The box code and the seal are the authenticity checks; the tape measure is not.
Where all three line up
Whatever you pick, the three share more than they differ. Wikipedia records Labubu as a character designed by Kasing Lung, so the face is the same artist's work across the lines; every Pop Mart listing carries the same age grading; Pop Mart applies the same rule that all blind box products are sold as sealed, randomized units with no requests for specific designs; and each line has a long-odds secret outside its regulars. Buying for the design you like, in the format you will actually use, is the only part of the decision you control, and the one this page is built to settle.
FAQ
Is Big Into Energy bigger than Have a Seat?
On Pop Mart's listings, Big Into Energy is 17 cm (6.69 inches) tall excluding the hanging loop, and Have a Seat measures 8 x 7 x 15 cm seated. Exciting Macaron is listed at 6.7 inches. The pendants are taller; the seated figure takes up more shelf depth.
Which Labubu series has the best odds of a secret?
None of the three advertises better odds than the others. Pop Mart's policy says the ratio is printed on each series' packaging and detail page; for Big Into Energy the reported figure is 1:72, and the pendant lines are widely described at the same long odds. Treat a seller's claim of better odds as marketing unless it is printed on the box.
Can I buy the exact Labubu colour I want instead of a blind box?
Not from Pop Mart. Its shopping policy states that it does not support requests for specific designs or direct selection of individual figurines, in order to preserve the surprise. The way to get a named colour is an opened figure on the secondhand market, which comes with its own checks; see buying opened figures safely.
Are these Labubu series suitable for children?
Every one of the three Pop Mart listings carries the line "Not suitable for persons under 15." They are sold as collectibles for teenagers and adults, not as toys for small children, and the pendant clasps and wire-stuffed limbs are part of the reason.
Is Exciting Macaron the same series as Tasty Macarons?
Yes. Pop Mart's US store lists the 2023 pendant line as Exciting Macaron, while Bagaholicboy refers to the same V1 line as Tasty Macarons; it is a naming difference between markets rather than a different set of figures.
